LeMonica W. Hakeem
LeMonica Hakeem, Vice President of Business Development, is responsible for leading the pursuit of new business opportunities. LeMonica focuses on acquiring airport concessions contracts in new and existing airport markets, establishing new brand relationships, creating new partner relationships and exploring strategic diversification ventures. She is highly regarded for her ability to source new restaurant concepts to offer to airports. Her experience working with local brands and local partners has earned her accolades within the industry. LeMonica's passion for the hospitality industry fuels her commitment to create innovative experiences for the traveling customer. LeMonica has been instrumental in CI's continued growth within the industry.
Over the past 15 years, LeMonica has worked in a variety of roles with CI, our sister company HJ Russell & Company and the Russell Family Office. In 2001, she began her career as Director of Internal Audit for all three organizations. In 2006 she played a critical role helping to restructure the Russell Family Office. She then served as Director of Strategic Initiatives and Administration for CI from 2007 to 2011, including fulfilling the role of Interim VP of Finance for CI during a transition period in 2009. LeMonica assumed responsibility for the company's business development efforts in 2011 as Interim Director of Business Development. In 2015, she served as Interim Chief Financial Officer for HJ Russell. Upon returning to CI in 2016, LeMonica continues to position the company for steady growth in airports.
In addition to LeMonica's extensive experience working across multiple disciplines, she possesses significant accounting and audit skills from her prior experiences working with Arthur Andersen, LLP and Cabot Corporation, a leading global company. While with Cabot she had the opportunity to work in many countries all over the world.
LeMonica is a member of the Georgia Restaurant Association, the Atlanta Area Airport Chamber of Commerce, the National Restaurant Association, Women's Food Service Forum, and the Executive Women of Goizueta. She has been dedicated to contributing to volunteer and community activities in the Atlanta area.
LeMonica is a summa cum laude graduate of North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. She earned a MBA degree from the Emory University Goizueta Business School.
LeMonica and her husband have two young sons.
